What's a local move?
A Local Move is a move that takes place within the state border, usually not exceeding 100 miles from origin to destination. In a local move the charge is based on an hourly rate, changing by the amount of movers, or in some cases by the time of the day. In California, moving companies must get an additional license to offer local moving services. This license is granted by the Public Utilities Commission Department.
